on ... life (#1)

Hey.

The past few months — well, they’ve been hectic. And perhaps more to the point: I’ve been exhausted, frazzled, in a rut, pulled in every direction.

And yet, there have also been a couple of huuuge wins:

  • I’m finished with PhD coursework for the year, and will be returning my focus to the all-important research component! Looking forward to sharing early thoughts on research design, the inspiration for the work, and some reflections of the journey thus far.

  • As we zip towards July (!), I’m finishing up my tenure in a few of my voluntary advisory roles. These positions have been incredible springboards to great things, yet challenging and often uncomfortable — in ways that have nurtured my resilience, empathy and persistence. Hoping to put together some lessons learned very soon.

  • It’d been years since my last in-person conference — so huge thanks to the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) for inviting to be part of their 2022 conference. Lots of takeaways and thoughts to digest. Will share a transcript of my presentation.

I’ve always loved being unreasonably busy, but in the name of self-care, I’m committing to investing more time in fewer things for the rest of the year — including writing, reconnecting with friends, and rest.

Take care.
